Welcome to August :)

The year 2013 started just like yesterday and here we are in the 8th month!

God has been faithful and has kept us alive. In the midst of trials, temptations, victories, through it all, He has been faithful, let’s give Him praise for everything. Let Him know you are grateful for all He has done. God is worthy of all our worship. Why don’t you take some time to thank Him. Looking back, you’ll see that He has been faithful and He is forever faithful. Your blessings are on the way as you praise Him…Halleluyah!

Put it on the altar -Jessica Reedy

Everything that you’ve been worrying about, put it on the altar.
Make your way to the altar and leave it there , all of your burden, put it on the altar.
You’ll get an answer….God is working it out, He’ll work it out!
Remember..prayer changes things…be encouraged…
You’ve got a friend in Jesus….
It’s gonna be alright 🙂

Alabaster box I

Everyone in the city knew this woman was very sinful , but her selfless display of extravagant worship changed how everyone remembers her today. Jesus was in Bethany in Simon the Leper’s house, when she heard that Jesus was there, she bought an alabaster jar of perfume, stood at His feet behind Him weeping, and began to wash His feet with tears and wiped them with her hair, kissed Him and poured perfume on them (Luke 7:37-38). Imagine the depth of this woman’s tears being enough to clean the dusty feet of Jesus! Imagine the gratitude that moved her to boldly display her devotion and adoration of the Man reclining at the table! She head heard Him teach of the kingdom of heaven. She had understood the heart of the Lord, she had seen His miracles….With tears flowing from a sobbing heart, she washed the Lord’s tired feet and wiped away the soil with the tresses of her hair. Then she perfumed His feet with oil from her alabaster jar that was valued at a year’s wages. This woman’s love for Jesus knew no bounds. When others voiced their disapproval of her extravagance, Jesus said, ” Leave her alone. She has done a beautiful thing to me.” -culled from “Extravagant Worship by Darlene Zschech).

Sometimes our sins make us think we are not worthy of God’s acceptance , that is the lie of the devil. God said we should come boldly to Him and if we confess our sins, He will forgive us. This does not mean we should continue in our sinful ways though. This woman went boldly not minding what people will think of her and worshiped the Lord even though she knew her ways were not right, she did not allow that to stop her, she humbled herself, worshiped Him with her best and she was accepted.
