The shakings!
A lady was holding a glass of water in her hand and suddenly someone tried to scare her and she shook because she was afraid and some of the water spilled! Why did the water spill? I will say it was because the glass was filled with water. True! that is partly right because one of the reason the water spilled was because the glass was filled with water, however, another reason was because she was frightened and she shook , making the water to spill from the glass. Most of the times when we are faced with some situations the way we react are as a result of what we have in us. There are times when a colleague at work or someone spoke to us in a certain way and we are surprised at the way we reacted at that point. This is because we did not know that we had such a character in us. Many at times when this happens, God wants us to see ourselves just the way we are and know that we still have such characters or behaviors in us. We should therefore work on our weaknesses through the help of the Holy Spirit and ask Him to help us exhibit the fruit of the Spirit. That time when you reacted with anger and you said that word you know you should not have spoken as a child of God, there was a shaking and God wanted to open your eyes to see that you still have to work on yourself and ask for His help to deal with anger in your life. That time that someone asked you a question and you lied, there was a shaking! and God wanted you to know that you still have that tendency in you. What you need to do is to ask Him for help in that area so that you can be transformed completely into God’s image. What do you have in you? What fruit do you bear? What type of lifestyle do you lead? All these things manifest when you are being shaken. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Gal 5:22-23. Let us keep asking God to help us to exhibit the fruit of the Spirit in all that we do.
Shalom!
First year!
It’s a beautiful day and I’m so happy and excited to tell you that today marks the 1st year of “All about worship” blog. I feel so blessed to see that this blog is being a blessing to so many. I thank all my family, friends and everyone that has been following this blog for your supports. I noticed that people from different parts of the world follow this blog and I believe that y’all are being blessed by it. People from United States, United Kingdom, Nigeria, Greece, Paris,Italy, Harare Mashonaland East ( a province in Zimbabwe), Kharkiv Kharrkivs’ka (Ukraine), Botswana,South Africa, Gaborone, Delhi, Malaysia to mention a few. The interesting thing is that I have not heard about few of these places until I started this blog lol! I am so humbled and I feel fulfilled. I believe many more will continue to be blessed by this blog. This blog started on blogspot as “yadahpraise.blogspot.com” and later on to “fiscoyadahpraise.com” and was birthed as a result of my passion for worship. To see that people from all walks of life irrespective of their background get a deeper understanding of the meaning of worshiping God. My passion is to see people love and worship God and for believers to live a lifestyle of worship. Topics that are relevant and of importance to the music ministry will be discussed. You will also get to have information about upcoming gospel artistes and their concerts so you can attend the ones nearest to your location. Very soon we will continue topics on nutrition and health, our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit and we also need to constantly remind ourselves to live a healthy lifestyle of proper nutrition, getting adequate rests and exercise . These are some of the reasons we will be having discussions on nutrition and health.
Thanks all for visiting this blog and pls don’t just pass by, I’d like to have your comments as well. Thanks in advance for spreading the word 🙂
Have a blessed day!
Hallowed be Thy name
I found myself singing this song this evening. It’s an old song I learnt when I was a teeneager and it was one of my favorites. Guess what? I found the song on YouTube! Enjoy 🙂
You are love, You are life
You are Lord over everything
Alpha, Omega, Jehovah, The King of Kings,
Wonderful, Way maker, Worthy of my offering
Hallowed be thy name
You’re the answer to all of my problems and You solve them
(Hallowed be thy name)
You supply all my needs and I call you Abba Father
(Hallowed be thy name)
You’re a mighty fortress in the time of tribulation
(Hallowed be thy name)
And I’m more than a conqueror in every situation
(Hallowed be thy name)
You’re the only God and there will never be another
(Hallowed be thy name)
Ten thousand angels couldn’t say how much I love You
(Hallowed be thy name)
So I’m gonna lift you up Lord
(Hallowed be thy name)
And all the world will see how You set my soul on fire
(Hallowed be thy name)
Back to the basics!
Let’s go back to the basics! The basics of studying the word of God daily, praying regularly, witnessing to others, having a quiet time daily, being our brothers’ keepers. This sounds familiar however, many of us including myself have strayed from doing these things like we used to do when we first gave our lives to Christ. It is high time we went back to doing these things with more commitment. Spending quality time in God’s presence and not being scared of going to Him with fellowship or scared of calling Him father. He who has ears, let him hear what the Spirit of God is saying to His church. He is coming for a church without wrinkle or blemish. Are you ready!! You and I are the church Christ Jesus is coming for, let us make ourselves worthy of His return. The bible says that the veil of the temple has been torn, it was torn when Jesus died on the cross. The significance of this is that we have access to the Father through the blood of Jesus. If at any time you feel there is a gap between you and God or you don’t have confidence to approach Him in worship, you need to check yourself and see if there is a sin hindering you. To my fellow musicians/worship leader/singers/music ministers, please make yourself a living sacrifice holy and acceptable to God. How can we lead people into God’s presence if we do not have a relationship with Him? God can never behold iniquity, God’s holiness and our sin can not mix! We should keep ourselves holy and acceptable before God. We need to rebuild the altar of our lives and keep the fire on the altar burning if we must see God move through us in our ministry. So how do you go back to the basics if I may ask? Have a desire and thirst for more of God. Ask the Holy Spirit for help and strength. Be determined to move to the next level in your walk with God and ministry. Always yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Be quick to obeying God’s leading. Be disciplined. There are times the Holy Spirit will ask you to go read a book or a verse or a particular chapter of a Christian literature or do something. You need to obey and do it on time, that way you will be able to learn and get the message He has for you. He can give you a word for someone as well. Study the word! If you need to get a new bible, get one with the type of fonts you like or your favorite version and be determined to study it. You may start with your favorite book of the bible and then, you move on from there. Pray, spend quality time in worship. You and I can never give what we don’t have.
Shalom!
